The Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications, Olorogun Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has announced his disengagement from DC-23, a political lobby group in the state.

The EACGOV in a statement said his resignation is in compliance with the Delta Central PDP leadership which recently frowned at parallel groups that tend to usurp the functions of the party in the senatorial district.

He said at the time he was invited to join the group, it appeared from the body language of the promoters that the permission and approval of the state party leader and governor had been sort and approved, adding that recent developments and wider consultations with major stakeholders and party leaders revealed otherwise.

Oghenesivbe noted that a political pressure group meant to prosecute elections/political ambitions or to serve as a lobbying group should not have a written constitution because doing so give the impression that the group is independent, suggestive of the tendency of becoming a political party or another kind of organisation in the future.

He further asserted that as EACGOV, his loyalty is to the party and the Governor, who in his
goodwill and personal considering appointed him as one of his senior communication Aide, which is why he must of a necessity go the way of the governor and PDP leadership in the state and Delta Central.

The renowned Communication strategist and Justice of the Peace said in the light of the above, he had to retrieve his steps and wait for the Governor and party directives on all matters relating to the effective and efficient prosecution of the 2023 governorship electioneering master plan.

“It is my considered opinion and duty to remain loyal to His Excellency the Governor of Delta State, in all political and leadership matters, as one of his senior Aides in this administration.

“DC-23 is perceived to be a lobby group for the purpose of ensuring that Delta Central produces the next governorship candidate of PDP.

“When I was invited to join the group, there were glaring indications that the permission and approval of the governor was sort and obtained, but recent developments and consultations across board revealed that the introduction of a written constitution and national leadership structures in DC-23 seem to have complicated issues. This development had in some ways fractured the rules of political pressure or lobby groups which in most cases only serve the purpose(s) of mobilizing the people for electioneering campaigns.

“In the light of the above, I wish to respectfully and humbly disengage myself from the activities of DC-23 and to wait for further directive of the governor and party leadership.

“I thank the promoters of DC-23, made up of great men and women of aristocratic dignity, experienced politicians, some of whom are my esteemed leaders and benefactors, for considering me worthy to be a member while my brief membership lasted.

“I state without any ambiguity that I Stand with my boss, Gov Okowa, going forward,” Oghenesivbe said.
