Facts are beginning to emerge on the reason why the Executive Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State on Communications, Olorogun Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe on Tuesday resigned his membership of DC-23, a recently formed political pressure with the aim of ensuring that an Urhobo emerges governor of the state come 2023.

Oasis Magazine (OM) reports that contrary to the claims by Oghenesivbe, that he resigned his membership from the group in obedience to a directive of Okowa, an insider said that his decision was made after his plea to function in the media department of the DC-23.

A source who sent us text messages of Latimore pleading to be placed in the media team of DC-23 quoted him saying: “Migwor Leader! Still waiting for your intervention. As the pioneer media strategist for DC-23, it will be unfair for me not to be in the media arm of Exco. You may consider the inclusion of; (1) Deputy National Publicity Secretary or Director of Media & Communications, for me. Consideration should not be tinted towards LGA alone, but on my professional skills, experience and media management potentials. I remain loyal, hoping that justice and fairness will be served soon. Regards.
Barr Fred Latimore.”

The source revealed that the above text was “his plea to Amori to be considered for Deputy Publicity Secretary.”
Adding that “When Chief Amori turned him down because of his political instability and corrosiveness he resigned.”

The source further quoted Oghenesivbe as saying that “for example; the Governor appointed; Commissioner for Information, DG State Bureau of Orientation, CPS and Manager Communication, all from Delta North” to drive his point to be appointed.

DC-23 which Chief Ighoyota Amori as National Chairman-Elect will be officially launched on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the PTI Conference Centre, Effurun.
