The people of Okere-Urhobo Warri Kingdom in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State are in a jubilant mood as they await tomorrow’s (Tuesday) presentation of Staff of Office to the newly crowned Orusuen (King) of the kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Sir Emmanuel Ono Okumagba (JP), Okumgba The Second.

NewsNet Nigeria gathered that the presentation of the Staff of Office is expected to be performed by the State Deputy Governor, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, the monarch at the Orusuen palace situated on Ejemudaro road at the busy axis of the popular Cinema site in Warri beginning at 12noon.

It was learnt that the excitement and anxiety of the people of the kingdom over the presentation of the Staff of Office to the new Orusuen stemmed from his general acceptance to ascend the throne of his ancestors.

NewsNet Nigeria also gathered that since his enthronement as king, there has been no protest nor skirmish in Okere-Urhobo Warri Kingdom.

Okumgba The Second was crowned in the early hours of Monday, November 16, 2020, by kingmakers in Okere-Urhobo Kingdom led by the oldest Kingmaker, High Chief George Amurun (JP).

It was further learnt that his selection was also supported by a majority of the Kingmakers in the kingdom.

He succeeds former professor of Sociology at the Sociology Department of Delta State University, Abraka, HRM Prof. Paul Oghenero Okumagba, Idama II, who joined his ancestors in July 2019.

HRM Okumgba The Second is expected to bring his wealth of experiences to bear in the promotion of peace and advancing development in the Urhobo kingdom.
