The executive of Okpare Development Union (ODU) in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State says the Okpare Olomu Annual General Conference will be held as planned on Thursday, December 26, 2024.

This is contained in a statement endorsed by the President General of Okpare Development Union, Comrade Okiemute Otoka-Tebite, Acting Secretary, Solomon Obare, Treasurer, Dennis Obodje, Public Relations Officer, Rowlins Tefue, Financial Secretary, Mrs Theresa Odjeni, Assistant Financial Secretary, Ejovwoke Edjere and Chief Whip, Double Onakiru.
The statement urged sons and daughters of Okpare Olomu to disregard any report or publication which purportedly stopped them from attending and participating in the annual general conference of the community scheduled for Thursday, December 26, adding that the gathering is much more than a meeting of sons and daughters of Okpare Olomu.

They noted that the annual conference is a platform of reunion for the people of the community both home and diaspora during the festive period as the Yuletide holiday is the best opportunity for them to come together to celebrate God’s faithfulness at the end of the year.

The Executive of Okpare Development Union further said that the conference is a time for the people of Okpare Olomu to raise their voices as one in prayers to God for the prosperity and progress of the community in the coming year and beyond.

The leaders of Okpare Olomu thanked relevant stakeholders for their show of concern towards the 2024 conference saying there is no cause for alarm.

According to them, there is no Court injunction stopping the scheduled conference because the one being paraded has been made irrelevant by the Application of Stay of Execution by the President General of Okpare Olomu.

While promising that the annual conference will be peaceful, the signatories thanked the Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government, Dr Lucky Avweromre for his understanding of the need to hold the conference as scheduled.
