Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has directed the immediate rehabilitation of failed sections of the Ubeji/Egbokodo/Refinery Road as he renewed his call for increased investment in the state.
Speaking on Friday in Ubeji, Warri South Local Government Area, while inaugurating the multi-million-naira Swiss International Rancho Valerie Hotel, Oborevwori said Delta’s improving socio-economic climate makes it an attractive destination for investors, especially Deltans at home and abroad.
“The time to invest in Delta State is now. Warri is rising again. The shadows of yesterday have given way to the bright possibilities of today,” he said.
The governor described the newly opened hotel as a strong signal of Warri’s economic rebound, noting that it reflects growing investor confidence and reinforces the city’s position as the state’s commercial and tourism nucleus.
According to him, the establishment of the hospitality facility will boost local enterprise, create jobs, strengthen community peace, and support the state’s broader growth agenda.
“This hotel is not just another project; it is a clear statement that Delta State is open for business,” he said.
Oborevwori praised the hotel’s owner, Mr. Mode Akoma, for choosing to invest in his home community, calling the project a display of commitment and vision. “If you had invited me to commission a hotel outside Delta State, I would not have attended. I am proud you chose to develop your community,” he added.
He reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to sustain infrastructure renewal, improve security, and deepen investor-friendly policies under the MORE Agenda.
He said the success of projects like Rancho Valerie highlights the state’s abundant investment opportunities.
Earlier, the hotel’s General Manager, Mr. Todowede Opeyemi, said the facility was designed to deliver world-class hospitality while showcasing Delta’s culture and tourism potential. He pledged that guests would enjoy memorable experiences that reflect the state’s warmth and uniqueness.
