Oborevwori appoints Delta-based journalist, Festus Ahon as spokesperson

Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the appointment of Mr. Festus  Ighoyeguonor Ahon as his Chief Press Secretary (CPS).

The approval for his appointment was contained in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Government House Administration, Sir Eddy Ogidi-Gbegbaje on Monday.

According to the statement, the appointment is with immediate effect.

Mr Ahon, who until his appointment was Correspondent of the Vanguard Newspapers in Delta State.

He is a committed, dedicated and respected journalist and astute member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Delta State Council, who served as founding chairman of the NUJ Ughelli Correspondent Chapel.

At the level of the National Executive Council of the NUJ, Ahon currently occupies the position of National Ex-Officio.

He was also the Chairman of INEC Press Corp (IPC) in Delta State for the conduct of 2023 general elections.

He hails from Ekrarhawe community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, where he plays an active role as a community developer.

As a devout Christian, Ahon is a member of the Council of Knights, Anglican Communion, Ughelli Diocese.
