Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Ned Nwoko, has announced the commencement of a Free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration drive for 1,500 students ahead of the 2026 academic year.

The initiative, aimed at promoting access to higher education and strengthening human capital development, is targeted at students from the nine local government areas in Delta North. These include Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Ika North East, Ika South, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, Oshimili North, Oshimili South, and Ukwuani.

In a statement released on Monday, Senator Nwoko described education as the bedrock of sustainable development, stressing that no qualified student should be denied the opportunity to pursue tertiary education due to financial challenges.

“Education is the foundation upon which lasting development is built. This initiative is part of my commitment to supporting young people and ensuring equal access to learning opportunities,” he said.

According to the senator, beneficiaries must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, and are required to generate their JAMB Profile Code using their National Identification Number (NIN). Applicants are also expected to provide their full name, profile code, and council ward for proper documentation and verification.

He noted that investing in education remains a critical strategy for building a resilient and prosperous society.
