The Delta State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has felicitated with Comrade Felix Igbekoyi, on his appointment as the Bureau Chief of the Leadership Newspapers in the state.

Igbekoyi was the Director-General (DG) of the ‘Redemption Team’ on which platform the incumbent Chairman of NUJ in Delta, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, re-elected for a second term in office 2020.

Speaking at the temporary press centre of the union in Asaba, the state capital, the venue of the get-together felicitation, Comrade Ikeogwu congratulated Igbekoyi for his appointment, adding that he was particularly happy with the triumph of the DG over his many detractors as a result of his commitment, dedication and hard work that ensured the victory of the team at the union elections in the state.

He said that it was very disheartening for some members of the union in the state to have taken the ignoble step of writing petitions to the employer of the DG in Lagos which resulted in his being relieved of his former appointment, adding that his new appointment has vindicated him from the unfortunate and malicious aspersions cast on him by his detractors.

Ikeogwu enjoined members of the team to continue to stick together as one big family, saying that there was much to gain from strengthening the unity of purpose in the team.

Among those present during the occasion were think tank leaders of the team, Comrades Osita Biose and Festus Ahon and Comrade (Dr) Maxwell Momah.
