A woman and her daughter were on Thursday afternoon crushed to death by a passenger-train plying the Itakpe- Warri (Ujevwu) railway line in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, reports NIGER DELTA TODAY Online.
The sad incident was said to have occurred at about 3:40pm at Aragba area of Orhuwhorun Town.
Sources say the deceased woman and her teenage daughter were crossing the rail track when they were knocked down.
Although details of the incident were sketchy at the time of filing this report, sources claimed the incident led to a state of pandemonium in the area.
The incident comes three weeks after a train on the Itakpe-Warri rail line crushed a middle-aged man, Clement Emetoma at the Orie-Abraka axis in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
NewsNet Nigeria had exclusively reported that the deceased from Abraka Ward 3, was in the company of a deaf and dumb man who sustained injuries on his leg.
It was further gathered that they were both on their way to the farm on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, when the accident occurred.
