Saheed Fawehinmi, younger brother of late Mohammed Fawehinmi, has said that his elder brother succumbed to COVID-19 related complications.
Saheed, who disclosed this on Thursday said the family had insisted on an autopsy before his burial now scheduled for 27 August.
“The family could not immediately disclose the cause of our brother’s death because we wanted the information to be based on factual medical details especially as may be contained in the death certificate.
“Today, however, we are in a position to inform you that our dear brother died from COVID-19 related complications,” said Saheed, who is based in the U.S.
Mohammed Fawehinmi, Chief Gani Fawehinmi’s first son, had complained of breathing problems on 11 August, the day he died at 52 years.
