Olorogun Fred Okiemute Majemite, a former governorship aspirant and prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, has assured Senator Ede Dafinone of his support and called for greater unity among party members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Majemite gave the assurance on Thursday, September 17, 2026, when Senator Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, paid a courtesy visit to his country home in Ughelli.

The engagement brought together members of the Majemite political family and provided an opportunity for the two prominent APC leaders to exchange views on party affairs and matters affecting the people of Delta Central.

Dafinone, who is seeking re-election to the Senate in 2027, expressed appreciation to Majemite for his support during the APC Senatorial Primary Election and acknowledged his contributions to the political development of the district.

Speaking during the visit, the senator described Majemite as a respected political leader who had paid his dues over the years.

“Chief Fred Majemite is a respected leader who has paid his dues in the political space. I am here not only to appreciate his support during the primary election but also to strengthen the relationship and seek his continued counsel as we work together for the progress of our people,” Dafinone said.

The senator said his engagement with Majemite formed part of his ongoing consultations with political leaders and stakeholders across Delta Central.

According to him, such engagements are important for fostering mutual understanding, strengthening relationships and promoting collective efforts towards the development of the senatorial district.

Dafinone added that leadership should be built on consultation, respect and the willingness to bring people together for the common good.

“Leadership is about building bridges and bringing people together. My engagement with Chief Majemite is a demonstration that we must continue to strengthen unity within our party and work collectively for the interests of Delta Central,” he added.

Responding, Majemite expressed appreciation for the senator’s visit, describing the gesture as a demonstration of humility and respect for political leadership.

He assured Dafinone of his support and called on members of his political family to intensify their mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 elections.

“I appreciate Senator Dafinone for finding time to visit us. This gesture demonstrates humility, respect and the importance of unity among leaders. We will continue to support the party and work together to strengthen APC in Delta Central,” Majemite stated.

The former governorship aspirant also urged his supporters to remain committed to the APC and work collectively towards the success of the party’s candidates at all levels.

He expressed confidence that through effective grassroots mobilisation and cooperation among party leaders, the APC could achieve what he described as a comprehensive electoral victory in Ughelli North Local Government Area.

“Our task is to build a united and formidable party. I therefore call on all our supporters to remain focused, mobilise at the grassroots and work collectively for the success of all APC candidates,” he charged.

Majemite further assured Dafinone of strong support for the senator’s re-election bid while urging party faithful to work towards victory for APC candidates from the Presidency to the State House of Assembly.

The meeting underscores the continuing political consultations among APC leaders in Delta Central as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.
