The Isoko Association of North America (IANA) has donated 180 desks and chairs to Eto Primary School, Ivori-Irri in Isoko South Local Government Area and Okpe-Isoko Grammar School, Okpe-Isoko in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, in a move to strengthen educational infrastructure.

Speaking during the formal handover of the furniture, Chief Evelyn Aluta, who represented IANA President General, Chief Queen Akpotu-Olomu, said the gesture underscores the association’s steadfast commitment to education as a pillar for national development.

“This donation is a reflection of IANA’s deep-rooted belief in education as the bedrock of any progressive society. Even though they reside thousands of kilometres away, they have not forgotten home. This is their way of giving back and encouraging learning among Isoko children,” Chief Aluta stated.

She urged school authorities to ensure proper use and maintenance of the donated items to sustain IANA’s goodwill and inspire future interventions.

Also present at the event was the former Managing Director of DESOPADEC, Bashorun Askia Ogieh, who applauded IANA for their consistent support towards grassroots development.

“A conducive learning environment begins with something as simple as proper seating. The Isoko people in North America have shown commendable foresight and generosity by contributing to the educational growth of our children,” Bashorun Ogieh remarked. “It’s now the duty of the benefiting communities to safeguard this investment.”
