Idumuesah Kingdom in Delta receives over 1000 school textbooks from Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs

It was a huge relief on Monday, February 1, 2022, for parents of students of Idumuesah Secondary School, Idumuesah in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State as the kingdom took delivery of over 1000 secondary school textbooks donated by the Abuja office of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs.

Recall that both public and private schools across Delta State on Monday, January 10, 2022, resumed for the second term of the 2021/2022 academic session with parents and guardians especially the poor ones grappling to buys approved textbooks and other learning materials for their children and wards.

Smiles beamed on the faces of students of Idumuesah Secondary School as a delegation of the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs led by a Deputy Director, Mr Henry Onwubuya delivered the textbooks covering different subjects to the people of Idumuesah Kingdom.

Other members of the delegation were the Ministry’s Chief Stock Verifier, Mr Kester Uadia, Chief Store Officer, Adegoke Anthony and the Contractor, Mr Abdulmajie Abubakar.

The school textbooks were received on behalf of the Kingdom by Pastor Odili Sunday, who represented the Okpara Ukwu, the political leader of the kingdom, Chief Frank Nwugo and others including the Principal ofIdumuesah Secondary School.

Mr Onwubuya while presenting the textbooks said the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs remains committed to the educational development of the region urging the students to take advantage of the Federal Government assistance to improve on their studies.

For their part, Pastor Sunday and Chief Nwugo expressed the deep appreciation of the people of Idumuesah Kingdom for the donation of the textbooks by the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs noting that it will not only be a big relief to parents but also boost the morale of the students towards their studies.

They appealed for more of such development-oriented assistance to the kingdom that has continued to remain peaceful and watchful of various government interventions in the kingdom.
