Ahead of the planned nationwide protest against hunger and bad governance in Nigeria, the founder and leader of Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSTCOM), Ndokwa ethic nationality, Mr Osita Ijomah has joined in appealing to the organizers to shelve the idea.

Ijomah in a chat with NewsNet Nigeria on Tuesday particularly called on the people of Ndokwa nation not to be part of the protest which according to him is not a solution to solving the nation’s economic woes.

He urged the Ndokwa people especially the youths to be more concerned about how more federal and state government development programmes can be attracted to their areas through their representatives at different levels of government.

The Ndokwa nation HOSTCOM leader appealed to the youths not to be fooled and dragged into the protest which is more likely to snowball into a state of anarchy similar to the EndSARS protest.

“I am using this opportunity to call on my people, the people of Ndokwa nation, the youths not to join this upcoming protest because it will not do Ndokwa nation well.

“Ndokwa nation has been a peaceful people since the creation of Ndokwa nation. So, please, I call on you all, the youths to remain calm and see how we can have more development from the federal and state governments. Joining the protest will cause harm to the entire country.

“I also want to use this opportunity to call on the federal government to bring more development to Ndokwa nation. We thank them for giving us a federal University but plead for more to come to Ndokwa nation particularly Ndokwa East which is along the River
Niger.

“Ndokwa East particularly Aboh area faces perennial flooding and erosion and efforts should be converted in dealing with the menace. Many homes and farmlands are being washed away due to flooding and erosion which require the federal and state governments because of the magnitude of the problem,” said the founder of HOSTCOM in Ndokwa nation.

The National Assembly is expected to hold an emergency plenary session on Wednesday to discuss issues of national importance.
