Over 350 persons benefit from Concerned Ejeme Professionals free medical outreach in Delta

Over 350 people from Ejeme Kingdom in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State have benefited from free medical outreach packaged and delivered by Concerned Ejeme Professionals (CEP), a group of professionals and technocrats drawn from Ejeme community, who are primed to mobilize their expertise, skills and resources to bring about impactful developmental strides for the betterment of lives of members of the area.

The group, CEP, in a first of its kind and in consonance with their avowed vision of making life better for the people, chose as their initial signature project; free medical outreach to bring succour to the members of the community with various health challenges.

The programme is also geared towards total health screening to nip in the bud, any latent medical problems.

The group, in its efforts to ensure coverage of the nooks and crannies of the community, had heralded the magnanimous kind gesture in a bulletin released before the outreach which was held on Easter Monday, April 1, 2024.

The bulletin noted that the community members will have the privilege of, “substantial health check, medical examination and test on common ailments such as BP, Diabetes, Sugar Level, Eye, Malaria, etc”.

The announcement added that drugs will be dispensed at no cost.

While kick-starting the event which was held at the Maternity and Health Centre, Ejeme Aniogor, the President, Concerned Ejeme Professionals, Mr Frank Egwu, in a remark delivered by the Vice President/Chairman Organizing Committee, Chief Onyeka Okoh; said CEP has assembled health professionals to diagnose, treat, counsel and provide medications towards assuaging the health challenges of members of the community and to inform them on ways to healthy living.

The President, Mr. Egwu therefore urged the beneficiaries to internalize the doctors’ advice and to take the medications as prescribed.

In furtherance to the outreach, the professionals who are domiciled all over the world donated medications to the Maternity and Health Centre, pledged to reconstruct the water tank’s stanchion and provide a brand new tank for the centre.

Speaking after receiving treatments, the beneficiaries lauded the kind initiative of CEP, noting that the group has exhibited in practical terms, the saying that “Charity Begins at Home”.

They appealed for the continuation of the outreach and prayed for the success of the members in their various endeavours.

Members of the Executive Committee of CEP, who facilitated the programme include the General Secretary, Dr Onyeka Chidi, Professor Nkem Onyekpe, Major Dickson Okpor, as well as Mr Innocent Isieh, Dr Chika Ogonwa and Dr. Ifeyinwa Onyia.

The CEP pantheon also includes Chiedu Okolo, Amechi Kwujeli, Engr. Mathew Okpor, Barrister Jonathan Igwebueze, Rev. Father Stephen Ogonwa and Dr. Nwaka Chukwunenye. Others are; Engr. Celestine Odogwu, Ambassador Jonathan Chikezie, Florence Okpor, Paul Egwu, Barr. Solomon Onyeukwu and Barr. Henry Onyebuolise.
