One-time Delta State Commissioner for Lands & Survey, Pharm (Sir) Patrick Othuke Ferife has bagged Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, FPSN, for his enormous contributions to humanity, health and Pharmacy.
Pharm Ferife was honoured with the award during the Presidential Inauguration and Investiture of New Fellows of the Society held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Abuja.
The event, chaired by the GMD/GCEO of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Malam Mele Kyari, featured the inauguration of the 24th President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, PSN, Pharm Ayuba Tanko Ibrahim.
A major contribution by Pharm Ferife, which earned him the prestigious award of Fellow of the Society, was his development of an antimalarial, FERIFE DS, as one of the drugs in the Arsenal to combat Malaria in Nigeria.
Pharm Ferife was born on March 18, 1964, with experience in Community Pharmacy, Contract Manufacturing, Company Medical Representation and the Chairman/CEO of D-Gopa Pharmaceuticals Limited.
He obtained his B.Pharm and Masters in Business Administration from the famous University of Benin, UNIBEN; started his career as a Medical Representative at Roche Nigeria Limited, where he rose speedily to the positions of senior medical representative and Area Manager West following his excellent performance.
On the political front, Pharm Ferife was appointed to the Delta State Hospital Management Board as a member; Chairman, Board of Directors of Delta State Printing and Publishing Company; Special Project, Sector B of Ughelli/Asaba Highway dualisation and later Delta State Commissioner for Lands & Survey.
The Ellu-born politician in Isoko North Local Government Area is presently a Consultant to the Delta State Government on Investment and married to Dr (Mrs) Gloria Patrick Ferife, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Technical Education, Delta State.
