National Coordinator of the Fidelis Support Group (FSG), Fidelis Adjogbe, PhD, has commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for approving a 13th-month salary for civil servants, describing the decision as a landmark welfare initiative that will further motivate workers and strengthen public service delivery.

Governor Oborevwori recently announced the payment of a 13th-month salary for civil servants during the 2026 Public Service Week Dinner and Awards Night in Asaba.

In a statement, Adjogbe described the governor’s approval as a historic achievement, saying it marked a significant milestone in Delta State’s public service.

“This approval is a clear demonstration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to the welfare of civil servants. It is a commendable decision that will inspire workers to remain dedicated, productive and committed to the growth and development of Delta State,” Adjogbe said.

The businessman and philanthropist from Evwreni Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area said the governor’s performance over the past three years had justified the confidence many Deltans placed in his administration.

“I have always maintained that Governor Oborevwori came prepared to govern Delta State. His administration has continued to demonstrate purposeful leadership through people-oriented policies and development initiatives across the state,” he stated.

Adjogbe congratulated civil servants on the approval of the additional salary, urging them to reciprocate the government’s gesture with greater commitment, professionalism and efficient service delivery.

“This recognition should encourage our hardworking civil servants to continue giving their best in the discharge of their responsibilities,” he added.

The FSG National Coordinator also appealed to residents of the state to continue supporting the Oborevwori administration, expressing confidence that the governor would sustain his developmental programmes across the three senatorial districts.

According to him, the governor has demonstrated inclusive leadership and has continued to implement projects and policies aimed at improving the quality of life of Deltans.

The governor had explained that the 13th-month salary forms part of his administration’s broader efforts to improve workers’ welfare and enhance productivity in the Delta State Public Service.
