Motorists in Warri lament worsening flooding of NPA/Ugbuangue road section

The worsening flood situation at the NPA Expressway near Ugbuangue community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State has continued to pose serious danger to motorists and other road users.

Some motorists particularly those who ply the road on a daily basis told NewsNet Nigeria that their vehicles have experienced severe damages with their attendant financial implications.

They noted that the unabated flooding of the section of the road leading to its current deplorable condition has equally become a death trap especially to drivers who cannot meander through the flood path.

Added to this according to them is the daily traffic jam leading to loss of man-hours.

They said though the Warri, Uvwie and Environs Special Areas Development Agency, WUEDA, is working to address the flood problem, its intervention has yet to yield any result even as the rains continue to pour heavily on a daily basis in the month of September.

It would be recalled that the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has commenced the execution of the first phase of the stormwater drainage in Warri and Uvwie Council Areas to tackle the perennial flood problem in the areas.
