The Permanent Secretary in the Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Oghoro has stressed the need for students to shun examination malpractice and approach every examination with adequate preparedness and self-determination to excel in such examinations.

Mr Oghoro gave the advice while monitoring the conduct of the entrance examination for placement in  Federal Unity schools conducted by the National Examination Council (NECO) in the State.

He stated that the examination was peaceful and expressed satisfaction with the provision of sufficient writing materials and the comportment of the candidates.

Oghoro urged students to identify and ensure that their role models were individuals that attained greatness through hard work and dedication,  saying that they should be well behaved.

He, however, enjoined them to be committed to their studies at all times, adding that the Delta State Government under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori would build on the legacies of his predecessor in the education sector.

He  explained that the examination was conducted simultaneously across all the States in Nigeria, adding that the examination was conducted in 13 centres in Delta State.

Some of the centres visited by Oghoro and the Delta State Coordinator of NECO, Princes Nkechi Ugbaja included St. Patrick’s College, Anglican Girls Grammar Schools (AGGS),all in Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government Area and Federal Girls College, Ibusa in Oshimili North Local Government Area.
