In a heartwarming display of compassion and community support, the chairman of Ughelli North Local Government, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, visited the family of a 3-month-old baby who narrowly escaped abduction in Oveto Street, Ughelli, Delta State, through the help of Good Samaritans.

Addressing pressmen during the visit, Egbo expressed deep concern over the rise in security threats in the local government area.

He disclosed that he received information about the adoption incident while attending a security meeting in Asaba and immediately activated the necessary channels to support the rescue effort.

“I want to assure every resident of Ughelli North that the safety of our people, especially our children, remains a top priority. Justice will be served, and we will continue to work closely with security agencies to prevent such acts,” he stated.

The Council boss used the occasion to call on parents and guardians to be more vigilant and proactive in ensuring the safety of their children. He emphasised that increased public awareness and cooperation with law enforcement agencies can significantly reduce the risk of such incidents.

The Council Chairman was accompanied by a delegation of aides, senior council officials, and political associates—highlighting the seriousness with which the council views the matter and its broader implications for the community.
