The Delta State Chairman of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, CDHR, Comrade A. P. Edariese on Monday retracted a story wherein it was reported that the land between Wetland hotel and NTA in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State was allegedly sold to Fulani herdsmen by some persons.

Edariese made the retraction during a chat with Our Correspondent in Warri.

According to the human rights activist, emerging facts have revealed that the said parcel of land belongs to Chief Richard Otovwievwiere, an indigene of Oviri-Olomu Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area.

“The earlier report concerning that parcel of land is hereby retracted.”

He said that the said parcel of land was actually not sold to Fulani herdsmen as earlier claimed.

Comrade Eadriese also noted that the land is currently being developed by the owner for market purposes stressing that anyone can do business there when fully completed.

He further tendered an apology to anyone the earlier publication may have caused damages or injuries.
