Suspected armed robbers have rammed into electric poles while fleeing with a red Toyota Camry in Warri, Delta State.

NewsNet Nigeria gathered that the vehicle with registration number LAGOS BM 615 KJ was allegedly stolen from where it was parked in Warri headquarters of Warri South Local Government Area of the state.

No member of the robbery gang was said to have died in the car which rammed into the electric poles beside a two-storey building on Emeriben Street in Okumgba Layout, Warri, that was used by one of the leading privately owned schools in the Warri area and beyond in the early 80s.

The incident which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, December 19, 2021, has since then plunged residents of Emeriben, Osamede and other adjoining streets into darkness.

As of today, Tuesday power supply was yet to be restored to the affected streets with the vehicle still trapped by the electric poles.

NewsNet Nigeria learnt that the leadership of Emeriben has insisted that the owner of the vehicle has to replace the broken electric poles before he can tow the vehicle from the spot.

Other facilities allegedly touched by the fleeing armed robbers before plunging the Toyota Camry into the electric poles, were a car parked on Emeriben Street, a house and a shop.
