Buildings blocking waterways in Warri area will be brought down – Gov Oborevwori

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on Monday inspected the various sites of the ongoing Storm Water Drainage Project in Warri and Uvwie.

Governor Oborevwori while responding to Journalists after the inspection affirmed that all buildings blocking the waterways in phase I and II of the project will be brought down to enable the contractors to finish their job.

He said, “I have looked at what is causing the obstruction, there are lots of buildings on the waterway, and I have called the Permanent Secretary, Housing, and Permanent Secretary, Works to liaise with the Ministry of Lands to see how these buildings can be brought down to avoid slowing the progress of the project.”

The Governor who also inspected the Warri Township Stadium, said that he was not too satisfied with the level of work done.

“We are going to look at the contract to see how we can review it, and some of the areas that are not properly scope will be scoped. We want the best for Warri, and this is Warri City Stadium,” he said.

The various sites inspected by the Governor were Uti culvert, Refinery road, Airport road by Fanikayode junction, First Marine Gate, Okere Road and Warri Township Stadium.
