Bizarre scene in Warri as suppose witch ‘crashes’ into security barricade

Residents of Warri in Delta State on Saturday morning woke up to a bizarre situation as a woman supposedly a witch was seen trapped in a security barricade of one of the streets in the metropolis.

The woman’s identity could not be ascertained by anyone in the large crowd that thronged to the scene to catch a glimpse of her on Dederu Street in Okumagba Layout, Warri.

Some eyewitnesses who claimed they got to the scene early told NewsNet Nigeria that they saw the alleged witch trapped in the security iron barricade leading to Dederu Street around 5am with her hands spread like someone that wants to fly.

The inability of the said witch to free herself from the barricade gradually drew more crowds from adjourning streets in Okumagba Layout and beyond leading to a near pandemonium.

Mixed reactions however trailed the circumstance that could have led to the woman being trapped in the iron barricade.

While some were of the view that it was usual for witches to be divinely exposed in such circumstances, some argued that a frustrated woman driven by poverty and other life challenges could unwittingly get trapped in the barricade while attempting to pass through it.

It was gathered that the woman who was at some point moved from the iron barricade and dropped on Ojagbugbe road was later rescued by the police and taken to protective custody at the Warri `A` Division of the Nigeria Police.

However, when contacted the spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe told NewsNet Nigeria that “no incident like that” was reported at the Police ‘A’ Division in Warri.
