It was a colourful convergence of family, friends, political associates, and dignitaries on Thursday as the Chief Adviser to the Delta State Governor, Senator Ighoyota Amori, marked his 73rd birth anniversary at his Asaba residence.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, lauded Senator Amori as “a man of remarkable and unmatched reputation, an inspiration for others to emulate.”

The Governor, amused by the scale of the gathering, said the reason for the annual celebration had become clear.

“I have always wondered why Senator Amori celebrates his birthday every year, but today the question has been answered with this massive turnout. I propose we change the day from Birthday to Amori Caucus Day,” he declared to applause.

The event drew an impressive roll call of political heavyweights and public figures, including the APC State Chairman, Engr. Omeni Sobotie, former PDP State Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka and Barr. Kingsley Esiso, Commissioner of Finance, Chief Fidelis Tilije, Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Chief Peter Uviejitobor, Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Ejiro Etacherure, Director of Protocol, Chief Sunday Onoriode, Chief Fred Majemite, Chief Moses Odibo, Chief Anthony Akpomiemie, Engr. Bobor Abraham; Dr. Philomena Oyearone; Hon. Austin Ayemidejor; Chief Edwin Uzor; and Hon. Ebireri Sunday, among others.

In his remarks, Senator Amori expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Governor for the honour and to all who joined the celebration.

“Events like this tell you if you have friends or not,” he said with a smile. “They say many are called but few are chosen, but in this case, many are called and many are chosen. My family is here, my children, both biological and otherwise, and my political family. It is my prayer that as you have come to celebrate with me, you will always have reasons to celebrate, in Jesus’ name.”

The evening was filled with warm tributes, laughter, and camaraderie, underscoring Senator Amori’s enduring influence and the deep bonds he shares across Delta State’s political and social circles.
