Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and President of Iteregbi Community in Uvwie Local Government Area, Comrade John Edes Agusa, has congratulated the Chairman of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service (DSIRS), Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, on his third anniversary in office, describing his tenure as a period of innovation, accountability and sustained progress in the state’s revenue administration.

In a congratulatory message on Tuesday, Agusa commended Ighrakpata for providing purposeful leadership that has strengthened the state’s internally generated revenue and enhanced public confidence in the tax administration system.

He noted that the reforms introduced under the DSIRS chairman’s leadership have modernised revenue collection processes, improved operational efficiency and contributed significantly to the financial stability required to drive Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s development agenda across Delta State.

According to Agusa, the consistent growth in internally generated revenue has created greater opportunities for government to invest in critical infrastructure, education, healthcare and other people-centred programmes that continue to improve the quality of life of Deltans.

“I congratulate Hon. Chief Solomon Ighrakpata on this remarkable milestone of three impactful years at the helm of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service. His leadership has been defined by professionalism, transparency and a commitment to excellence that has strengthened the state’s revenue architecture,” Agusa said.

The governor’s aide further described Ighrakpata as a disciplined administrator whose dedication and strategic approach have earned the respect of stakeholders while positioning the Delta State Internal Revenue Service among the country’s leading revenue agencies.

Agusa also applauded the continued efforts of Governor Oborevwori in creating an enabling environment for institutions to thrive, noting that improved internally generated revenue remains a critical pillar for sustainable development and effective service delivery.

May your leadership continue to inspire excellence and drive even greater achievements in the years ahead,” Agusa stated.
