Victor Edavwe heads 15-man Ekpan Employment Committee in Delta

Youths of the Ekpan Community in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State have resolved to close ranks for sustainable peace and development of the community.

The youths renewed resolve to embrace peace followed Friday’s inauguration of the Ekpan Employment Committee with Mr Victor Edavwe as President.

The Chief Legal Officer for Uvwie Local Government Council, Mary Osharode, a lawyer, administered the oath of allegiance and oath of office on the 15-man Ekpan Employment Committee, led by Mr Victor Edavwe, at the Ekpan Town Hall, the venue for the inauguration.

Uvwie Council Chairman, Hon. Ramson Onoyake, who was represented by his Vice, Hon. Henry Biyibi, specifically urged the President of the 15-man Ekpan Employment Committee and the chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, Mr Omasibro Magbado, to work together in order to achieve the purpose of their existence.

He also urged them to feel free to draw the Council’s attention to any issue of dispute for quick resolution.

The Unuevworo Etche R’ Ovwori, High Chief Henry Urumedji reminded the committee of the strategic nature of Ekapn Community in Delta State and the need for them as youths of the community to at all times conduct themselves peaceful for the unity and progress of the area.

For his part, the Chairman, Ekpan Development Committee (EDC), Comrade Newton Onaodowan urged the Edavwe-led Ekpan Employment Committee to be vigilant in order not to allow themselves to used by mischief makers as they who are critical stakeholders cannot afford to see the community to continue to derail because of the greed and selfish reasons of some persons.

An official of the Committee for the Defence of Human Right (CDHR) in Delta State, Comrade Harrison Itulua and former Senior Special Assistant on Security to the Delta State Government, Engr Emmanuel Udoka, who double as the State Government Observer, commended the orderly and peaceful inauguration of Ekpan Employment Committee describing it as rebirth for the community.

The Victor Edavwe-led Ekpan Employment Committee has a tenure of two years.
