Vanguard Correspondent from Delta State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Festus Ahon, has been appointed National Ex-officio of the Union.

NUJ National President, Comrade Chief Chris Isiguzo announced Ahon’s appointment on Monday, March 14, 2022, during the inaugural National Executive Committee, NEC meeting of his second term administration held in Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi State.

Isiguzo noted that Ahon’s appointment was informed by the need to bring in vibrant professionals to complete the Central Working Committee (CWC) for effective and efficient running of the Union.

Also appointed is Comrade Abimbola Oyetunde, General Manager of Bronze FM from Edo State Council as National Trustee for Zone F.

Elated by the unexpected appointment of Comrade Festus Ahon, the Chairman of Delta State Council, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu appreciated the National President and CWC members for the honour done the Council by appointing one of the leading journalists in the state.

Ikeogwu promised that the Council and Zone would not disappoint the Union by the reason of the appointment of the duo of Abimbola and Ahon, who had been tested and approved as highly dependable and trusted Unionists.
