US Special Forces' rescue operation got approval of Nigerian govt - Magashi

The Nigerian government on Tuesday said it gave approval to the US Special Forces to carry out the rescue mission of the kidnapped American citizen in the northern part of the country.

Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Salihi Magashi (rtd), told newsmen after his defence of the Defence Ministry’s 2021 budget estimate before the Senate, that Nigeria granted the United States Special Forces the permission to rescue the American citizen kidnapped by bandits in the northern part of the country.Magashi said that the federal government gave the go-ahead to the United States “as a friendly country”, when it was contacted by US government.
