A barber was on Friday night stabbed on his neck by suspected cultists who unleashed terror in parts of Warri metropolis in Delta State.

The barber, Lucky Erick Okiemute, whose barbing store, Jerkins Barbing Salon, is opposite a popular pharmacy shop, Samtex, on Ometan road, Warri, was among those who fell victim to the suspected cultists when they struck around 8pm on Friday, January 7, 2022.

The barber it was learnt survived the attack as he was said to be in stable condition on Saturday.

A lady who sells black market fuel in front of the barbing salon was also disposed of her phone and other valuables.

An eyewitness who craved anonymity told NewsNet Nigeria that shop owners and other innocent residents were robbed of their belongings in areas like Enemejuwa, Ope, Omoine, Ometan, Sam Warri, Old Welfare, Okoye and Radio road in the Warri metropolis.

The cultists it was however gathered were later contained by members of a vigilante group in a fierce gun battle.
