Yet-to-be-identified gunmen suspected to be from Ogbe-Ijoh Community in Warri South-West Local Government Area on Saturday invaded Aladja Community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State killing one person with others sustaining gunshot injuries.

NewsNet Nigeria gathered that the injured persons are receiving treatments at different undisclosed clinics.

Barely, ten days ago there was a reported case of renewed crisis between Aladja Community and Ogbe-Ijoh Community over disputed land.

Sources in Aladja Community claimed that at about eleven on Saturday morning, while they were busy going about their daily businesses the community was attacked by the gunmen.

They said that one person was killed and many persons sustained gunshot injuries.

Speaking from his treatment bed, one of the victims of the attack, Mr Robinson Onokahweri said that while he was coming from the church for prayers, he was shot.

Reacting, the President General of Aladja Community, Prince Ibrahim Dumuje, said that the community is tired of the 27 years old communal crisis.

Prince Dumuje who spoke through the President of the Community, Comrade Shell-Okakotu Godfirst also accused the military of taking sides and being complicit in the crisis.

They appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to intervene and demarcate the left flank of the disputed land for peace to reign.
