The Legislative Arm of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Delta State, has sworn in a new Chief Whip and Deputy Chief Whip.
In a letter dated Thursday, August 14, 2025, the Clerk of the House, Emmanuel Tagbajumi, conveyed the resolutions to the Council Chairman.
Hon. Friday Joseph Obara, Councillor representing Orogun Ward 5, is now the Chief Whip, while Hon. Afidor Victor, Councillor representing Agbarho Ward 19, takes over as Deputy Chief Whip.
In the statement, the House commended the Chairman for “massive projects achieved within one year in office” and urged the administration to prioritize the maintenance of internal and link roads across Ughelli North.
The Councillors have also embarked on a six-week recess effective Thursday, August 14, 2025.
