Suspected armed Fulani herdsmen have ravaged the farmland of a retired lecturer at the Delta State University (DELSU) Abraka, Professor Patrick Muoboghare.

Muoboghare, a one-time chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, DELSU chapter and Commissioner for Higher Education in the administration of former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

The Uwheru-born professor cum politician told NewsNet Nigeria that armed Fulani herdsmen recently turned his farm at Edjekota-Ogor in Ughelli North Local Government Area into a grazing field.

He lamented the reoccurrence of the destruction of farmlands which has impacted greatly on his investments in farming as an alternative revenue earnings in a worsening Nigeria economy.

“They have destroyed my cocoa, coffee and ogbonor and fed my cassava to their animals.

“I have reported severally to the local government chairman, but he is helpless, bemoaning the fate of his subjects.

“Not too long ago, these uncircumcised invaders killed a man in Edjekota in the presence of his wife.

“A time will come when there will be a mass attack on anyone who looks like them.

“This Miyetti wetin call will soon meet their match,” said Muoboghare.
