Senator Godswill Akpabio has triumphed over his bid to participate in the 2023 general elections as the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Akwa-Ibom North-West Senatorial District.
This followed the affirmation of his nomination on Friday by the Supreme Court.
The apex court in a judgment by a five-member panel led by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun unanimously allowed the appeal filed by the APC.
In a lead judgment read by Justice Ibrahim Saulawa, the apex court set aside the November 14 judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal, Abuja which voided Akpabio’s nomination.
