A sleeping youth was killed in Ogwashi-Uku while a night patrol in Ubeji arrested a gun-toting cultist, as the Delta State Police Command recorded multiple arrests and recoveries across the state.

In Ubeji, operatives of the Ekpan Division apprehended 30-year-old Gift Ojulowo during an early-morning patrol around the Hausa Market area.
Police said Ojulowo fled alongside other suspected hoodlums on sighting officers.
A search revealed a locally fabricated firearm and two live cartridges concealed on him.
The suspect allegedly admitted membership in the Aye confraternity, and efforts are ongoing to track other fleeing members.
In a separate operation, the Raiders Unit arrested 43-year-old Obi Onuigbi Ndubuoso over possession of 36 bottles of nitrous oxide, commonly known as “laughing gas.”
Investigations are underway to trace the source and distribution channels.
Meanwhile, in Agbor, two men, Owakwe Chuks, 37, and Bright Moses, 32, were arrested for a series of motorcycle snatching incidents.
Items recovered include a hammer, knife, face mask, handset, and cap, reportedly used during the attacks.
In Ogwashi-Uku, 20-year-old Aliyu Haman was arrested for allegedly stabbing his brother to death along Poly Road.
The weapon was recovered, and the victim’s body was deposited at a mortuary for autopsy. Investigations continue.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, reiterated the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, emphasizing that intelligence-led patrols and proactive policing remain a top priority.
The developments were detailed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, SP Edafe Bright, who said the arrests and recoveries reflected the Command’s renewed drive to consolidate security across the state.
