Sales of entrance examination forms into Model Secondary Schools in Delta begins

The sales of 2023 entrance examination forms into any of the 17 Model Secondary Schools in Delta State have commenced.

A statement by the Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Augustine Oghoro on behalf of the State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs Rose Ezewu indicated that the online registration of candidates into JS I and II and SS I and II would end on Friday, July 14, 2023.

The statement said that the entrance examination would hold on Saturday, July 22, 2023, in 21 designated centres across the state including the 17 model schools, West-End Mixed Secondary School, Asaba, Utagba Ogbe College, Kwale, Hussey College Centre II, Warri and Urhobo College Centre II, Effurun.

It advised interested candidates to purchase scratch cards from the field offices of the Chief Inspectors of Education (CIEs) to gain access to the registration form online through the Ministry’s Portal www.deltamobse.net.

According to Mr Oghoro in the statement, scratch cards would be issued to interested candidates on payment of the sum of Two Thousand Five Hundred Naira (₦2,500) at the respective CIE’s offices.

The statement noted that candidates are expected to register for the examination and access their results with the same scratch card given to them during the registration.

It further said that candidates seeking admission into JS I and II would be examined in English Studies, Mathematics and General Paper while candidates for SS I and II would be examined in English Language and Mathematics only.

The statement emphasized that admission into the State model secondary schools would be strictly based on the success of the candidates in the entrance examination and pass on the Cognitive/Placement Examination for JS I and II and pass in Basic Certificate Examination (BECE) for SS I and II.
