Reverend Father Anthony Ewherido has emerged as Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Warri in Delta State.
Reverend Father Ewherido, 62, was until the appointment the Rector of S. S. Peter and Paul, Major Seminary, Ibadan.
By this appointment, he becomes the second indigenous Bishop of Warri Diocese and takes over from Bishop John Afareha who retired in the second quarter of 2022.
The Papal declaration announcing Bishop-elect was made Wednesday by Archbishop Augustine Akubeze at the Sacred Heart Cathedral of the Catholic Church Warri, where several priests and the lay faithful were in attendance.
The Bishop-elect, Reverend Father Anthony Ewherido hails from Ewu-Urhobo in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
