Oborevwori is Delta’s next governor – Uduaghan

Ex-Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan on Saturday paid a visit to the Delta PDP Governorship candidate, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.

Uduaghan who was accompanied to the private residence of Oborevwori in Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area of the state by some political leaders of Delta South Senatorial District, including the Senatorial candidate, Hon Evangelist Michael Diden and Hon Nicholas Mutu, said his visit was to demonstrate his genuine support for Oborevwori, who he described as “the incoming governor of the State”.

He noted that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has done well by fielding competent and popular candidates, saying that his endorsement of Oborevwori was also commended by former governor James Onanefe Ibori while predicting that Chief Ibori may soon publicly declare his position.

He emphasized the need for Deltans to support the presidential candidate of PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, pointing out that Delta has been favoured by God to produce the next Vice President of Nigeria, come 2023.

“I want to state categorically that my endorsement of Oborevwori was and still is a personal decision. I was never influenced by anybody.

“After the Supreme Court judgement, it became very clear that our governorship candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori, was anointed by God to be the next governor of Delta State.

“I urge us to accept God’s wish for our state by mobilizing eligible voters for the landslide victory of PDP, Oborevwori and other candidates in 2023,” Uduaghan said.

Responding, Oborevwori thanked the former governor, for the visit, saying that as the former Adviser on Land Security under the Uduaghan administration, he was delighted that he paid him a visit.

He said his candidacy has been generally accepted and massively supported by Deltans across the three senatorial districts, adding that his M.O.R.E agenda will advance Delta by building on the enviable achievements of the Okowa administration.

“I am so happy that our dear former governor is here. You have always been one of the good leaders in the state and in our great party, PDP.

“I was privileged to serve the state as Special Adviser on Land Security during your administration. Thank you, sir.

The M.O.R.E. agenda is my social contract with Deltans. I promise to serve the state and people to the best of my ability without blemish.

“I will certainly reciprocate your visit with PDP leaders from the three Senatorial districts, and consult you whenever the need arises,” Oborevwori said

Personalities in attendance include; Senator Ighoyota Amori, Senator Emmanuel Agwariavwodo, Chief John Oguma, Chief Barr John Nani, Chief Abigor, Hon Solomon Ighrakpata, Chief Sunday Onoriode, Dr Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe and Chief Augustine Ogedegbe.
