The Delta State Police Command says it will enforce strict compliance on the ban on the use of fireworks, especially during the yuletide.

Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, in a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, reminded residents of the state that the ban on the use of fireworks such as ‘knock-out’, ‘banger’ is still in force and that the Command will enforce all the extant laws prohibiting their use.

The statement advised parents/guardians to guide their children and wards to desist from using them.

“Retailers of such goods are equally warned to withdraw from the sales of these products as anyone arrested will be prosecuted.

“Undercover Police Operatives have also been deployed for the purpose of arresting anyone found wanting,” the statement warned.

The CP while assuring residents of their safety at all times also called on residents to continue to partner with the Police and other security agencies by providing useful information in their untiring efforts at providing a peaceful and secured environment for all.
