Parliamentary workers in Delta endorse Atiku, Oborevwori

Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Sheriff Oborevwori has again commended management and staff of the Assembly for their support in the last six years he assumed office as the presiding officer of the House.

Speaking during an interactive session with the Assembly workforce in Asaba, Oborevwori attributed his laudable achievements as Speaker to the support and cooperation received from members of staff of the Assembly.

Addressing the gathering of management and staff of the Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori said he would not have achieved so much as Speaker without the cooperation, support and understanding of members of staff of the Assembly.

Oborevwori who is the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the forthcoming general elections, recalled that the staff had not had any reason to embark on industrial action for the past six years he assumed office as the Speaker of the House and commended them for the love and camaraderie.

While assuring all that his leadership would not deny any staff of training, retraining and other deserving welfare packages, the Speaker paid glowing tributes to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for being a worthy partner and for creating enabling environment for him to succeed as Speaker.

The governorship hopeful who is the Deputy National Chairman, Conference of Speakers of States Assembly of Nigeria, urged the Assembly workforce to replicate the love for him over the years by ensuring massive victory for all PDP candidates in the forthcoming coming general elections from the Presidency to the State Assembly.

Oborevwori said the hardship inflicted on Nigerians by the All Progressive Congress led government at the center were enormous and stressed the need for the people to deliver Atiku-Okowa ticket in order to rescue, recover, reset and rebuild the nation.

He noted that no segment of the society was spared in the maladministration of the APC and urged Nigerians to reject the party and its deceitful and fake promises to save the country from further collapse.

The Clerk of the House, Mrs Lyna Ocholor extolled the leadership qualities of the Speaker, Sheriff Oborevwori, saying that his humility and commitment to due process and excellence will continue to open doors for him.

Mrs Ocholor pointed out that the staff of the State Legislature never had it so good and promised the Speaker of sustained support and cooperation of management and staff of the Assembly.

Some of the staff who spoke, including the Chairman of the Workers Union, Comrade Emmanuel Edozie, also highlighted the sterling qualities of Rt Hon Oborevwori and wished him well in his life endeavors.

The highpoint of the interactive session was endorsement of Atiku-Okowa and Sheriff-Onyeme for the 2023 general elections.

The staff in a resounding unanimous voice votes endorsed the candidacy of Atiku-Okowa for presidency and Sheriff-Onyeme for governorship of Delta State.

The Speaker while appreciating the staff for the endorsement urged them to talk to their relatives and friends on the need to vote PDP to perfect God’s will in the Nigeria, reminding all that this is the first time Delta State has produced a Vice Presidential candidate.

He urged Deltans to vote for their own, stressing that Dr Okowa as the Vice President would usher in unprecedented development in the state.
