OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

His Excellency,
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
Aso Rock Villa, Abuja

In Support of the Pipeline Surveillance Contract Awarded to Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited

With great respect and utmost patriotism, I write this open letter as an Urhobo son from Agbarha Warri Kingdom, to draw your kind attention to a matter of national economic importance—specifically, the strategic pipeline surveillance contract awarded to Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited. This initiative, which your administration has wisely sustained, has delivered measurable results in safeguarding Nigeria’s vital oil and gas infrastructure while fostering peace, economic growth, and community empowerment in the Niger Delta.

Your Excellency, as you are well aware, Nigeria has for many years suffered severe revenue losses due to oil theft and pipeline vandalism—especially in the oil-rich Niger Delta region. These criminal activities not only depleted our national earnings but also fueled insecurity, environmental degradation, and mass unemployment. However, since Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited commenced its operations under this contract, a clear and commendable transformation has taken place.

1. Economic Impact: Boost in Government Revenue
Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited effort has translated into a significant reduction in crude oil theft and pipeline sabotage. This has directly led to increased daily oil production and export, which in turn boosts government revenue at a critical time when our nation needs every kobo to support developmental initiatives and stabilize the economy.

2. Peace and Stability in the Niger Delta
Before this contract, the Niger Delta was plagued with restiveness, sabotage, and grievances over marginalization. The involvement of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, an indigenous company with deep understanding of the region’s terrain, cultures, and complexities, has greatly helped to stabilize the area. By engaging directly with host communities, traditional institutions, and local leadership, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited has built bridges of trust that no external security outfit could easily replicate.

3. Youth Employment and Empowerment
Another key outcome of this contract is the massive youth employment it has generated across the region. Thousands of young men and women from various ethnic groups and communities have been engaged either directly or indirectly through this initiative. At a time when unemployment continues to threaten our social fabric, the economic empowerment created by this contract cannot be ignored.

4. On the Calls for Contract Termination by Tribalized Voices
Your Excellency, while it is expected that every major policy or initiative will attract diverse opinions, it is important to recognize and ignore the voices that are motivated not by national interest but by ethnic or political bias.

Recent calls by a few ethnic bigots, individuals and interest groups for the termination of the Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited contract are deeply unfortunate and ill-informed. These calls ignore the verifiable success of the current arrangement and the broader national gains that have accrued. Worse still, they threaten to derail the peace and security framework that has been painstakingly built.

Mr. President, this is not the time to politicize national security. It is not the time to bow to the pressures of ethnic bigotry or selfish interests. Rather, it is a time to consolidate on what works—and Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited has proven beyond reasonable doubt that it works.

5. A Call for Continuity and Support
I humbly urge your administration to continue supporting Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited in the execution of its national assignment. More than just a contract, this is a model of indigenous capacity, community partnership, and result-driven engagement.

Everything possible should be done to strengthen and sustain the partnership. This includes resisting political distractions, providing logistical and institutional support, and expanding the model to other critical infrastructure nationwide.

Nigeria needs solutions, not sentiments. Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, and the pipeline surveillance contract in the Niger Delta is a solution that is working.

In conclusion, I commend your administration’s bold steps in confronting Nigeria’s security and economic challenges with practical strategies. The continuity of the Tantita pipeline surveillance contract is a step in the right direction. Let us not take one step forward and two steps back.

With your visionary leadership and the support of patriotic Nigerians, I believe we can build a safer, more prosperous Nigeria for all.

Yours sincerely,

Ibuakevwe Ejiroghene
