The All Progressives Congress, APC, on Saturday demonstrated its capacity and readiness to win the presidential and governorship elections in Delta State come 2023 as an unprecedented crowd of members of the party and other supporters from across the state staged a One-Million-Man Solidarity March for the support Bola Tinubu as president and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as governor.

The rally which took place in the twin cities of Effurun and Warri was organised by a committee spearheaded by a prominent stalwart of the APC in the state, Chief Ominimini Obiuwevbi.

It could be likened to a ‘show of force’ as the APC began to test-run its preparedness to take over dominance of the political space in Delta State with the staging of the One Million-man Solidarity March for the presidential ambition of Bola Tinubu and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s governorship agenda in Delta state.

Armed with placards, posters, flyers, banners, stickers and adorned in branded T-shirts, face caps and other campaign materials bearing Tinubu, Omo Agege, and APC candidates for other positions, a long stretch of the party members and supporters from the PTI Conference Center in Effurun, marched through Effurun Round-about to Airport junction and back through the popular DSC roundabout to the PTI Conference Centre.

Despite the usual busy nature of the twin cities of Effurun and Warri, they conducted themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner especially at some point navigating heavy traffic gridlock in both cities dancing to various songs in support of their candidates.

As they marched around they also sensitised those they came across during the march on the need to exercise their franchise by voting massively for the APC in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

Addressing journalists, Chief Ominimini said the one million man march for Tinubu and Omo Agege is just the tip of the ice-beg of the activities lined up to massively drum support for both APC candidates whom he described as qualified, competent, capable and reliable to deliver on their mandates.

Others who spoke including the APC candidate for the Ughelli North Constituency 1 in the Delta State House of Assembly, Matthew Omonade, the Former Minority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Julius Okpoko and a leader of the party in the state, Prof Rukevwe Ogumba described Tinubu as a good manager of men and materials whose developmental records make him outstanding for the exalted position of president of Nigeria.

For Omo-Agege, they noted that as Deputy President of the Senate and the voice of the Urhobo nation in the Red Chamber, he has proven himself as tested and trusted to become the next governor of Delta State.

The Chief Ominimini Obiuwevbi-led committee had on Friday distributed relief items to flood victims in affected communities in Ughelli South, Ughelli North and Isoko South as well as Isoko North, Ndokwa East and Ndokwa West Local Government Areas of Delta State.

The One Million-man Solidarity March for Bola Tinubu for president and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for governor in Delta State continues on a later date.
