Chief Dr Engr. Anthony Akoji, the Arun Igala in Warri Kingdom (Koji) Oga Ata Igala Delta State, has joined sons and daughters of Warri Kingdom in warmly welcoming Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, ahead of her scheduled visit to the Palace of the Olu of Warri Atuwasè lll cfr on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
In a statement issued to NewsNet Nigeria, Chief Akoji described the visit as a moment of honour and cultural recognition, noting that it reflects the growing acknowledgement of traditional institutions as vital partners in national development.
According to him, the Palace of the Olu of Warri remains a powerful symbol of unity and identity
“The Palace of the Olu of Warri represents history, dignity, and shared heritage. The visit of Her Excellency is not just ceremonial; it is a meaningful engagement between national leadership and grassroots traditional authority,” Chief Akoji said.
The Igala leader noted that the First Lady’s visit carries special significance for the itsekiri nation, Igala people living within Warri Kingdom and across Delta State, describing it as a reassurance of inclusion and respect for Nigeria’s cultural diversity.
“This visit sends a strong message that every community matters. It reinforces the idea that unity is built when leadership listens, engages, and honours tradition,” he stated.
Chief Akoji expressed optimism that the engagement would deepen collaboration between the Federal Government and local communities, particularly in areas affecting women empowerment, youth development, small-scale businesses, and the informal sector, which he described as the backbone of the local economy.
