Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (HEOSL), the Operator of the OML 30 Joint Venture between NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL) and Shoreline Natural Resources Limited (SNRL) Joint Venture (NEPL/SNRL JV) says it is not true that its workers are on strike over non-payment of their salaries.
Heritage Energy General Manager, JV, Government and External Relations, Sola Adebawo in an electronic statement to NewsNet Nigeria said it was not correct media report which claimed that last Wednesday’s alleged brutalisation of two Journalists in Delta State was carried out by military personnel attached to its facility at Eruemukohwarien in Ughelli North Local Government Area while they were attempting to cover a purported protest by employees of HEOSL Contractors.
“This report attributing the incident to OML 30, is false in its entirety as HEOSL workers are not on strike and there has not been any report of an assault by members of the Government Security Forces posted to our operations.” “The reference to HEOSL and OML 30 in relation to this incident is misleading and irresponsible. It is the responsibility of the media to verify the accuracy of their reports before publishing same,” said Adebawo.
He added that any enquiry regarding the purported incident should directed to the; “Appropriate Operators of the neighbouring asset where employee protests might have taken place recently, as well as the military authorities who have direct command and control over their men and officers assigned to various work locations”.
The Heritage Energy General Manager, JV, Government and External Relations sued for restraint and respect for the rule of law in resolving all conflicts.
