President of Niger-Delta Volunteer Peace Front, NDVPF, Comrade kurata Akassa, has called on warring factions of EKogbene community in Burutu Local Government Area to shield their sword and embrace peace.
Addressing newsmen in Warri, Comrade Akassa said that it was wrong for people living together in one community to raise hand on each other.
“As people living in the same community, we are brothers and there is no need fighting and killing each other for community leadership position.
“To lead is to serve, and if truly you want to serve, then there will be no need to fight, or even conceiving such ideas,” Akassa emphasized.
He called on the people of Ekogbene community to embrace peace and allow love to reign, noting that the community has been peace-loving until a few days ago when the community was thrown into crisis following the chairmanship election involving two contestants.
“We are all brothers and sisters so we should not be killing ourselves because of our selfish desires,” Akassa appealed.
