A Pan Igbo Development Youths group, Ndigbo Progressive Youth Coalition (NPYC), has commended the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mr Mele Kolo Kyari for his efforts in boosting the oil fortunes of Nigeria.

The group also commended the Management of Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL)
for their incessant efforts and role in securing the Pipeline infrastructure of Nigeria which has resulted to a boost in the production quantum of Nigeria.

Contained in a statement signed and issued by the President, Comrade Ikechukwu Ude and Secretary, Mr Chris Donatus in Umuahia, Abia State Capital on Wednesday, the group said the intensified efforts of the NNPCL as well as security companies overseeing the pipeline surveillance in the Niger Delta particularly, PINL were fast paying off considering the quantum leap from a miserly 940,000 bpd in 2022.

According to them, “We are elated by the news of 1.486 Million Barrels Per Day (MBPD) in November as announced by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) monthly report for the last quarter of 2024.”

“Ndigbo Progressive Youth Coalition anticipates a better economy for Nigeria which translates to easier living for Nigerians. All these are possible because the NNPC GCEO, Mr Mele Kyari, took the bull by the horns”.

“Also important in galvanizing the upward trend of crude oil production in Nigeria, is the Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL), led by the Executive Director, Mr Osahon Hosa- Okubor, a silent achiever, who has meticulously ensured strict monitoring and security of pipelines in the Niger Delta, thereby cutting down on oil theft and vandalism of oil facilities.”

The group pledged continuous support for the PINL in the region even as the call on the public to join actively and passively in the security of oil facilities in Nigeria.
