Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, came prepared, proactively took the driver’s seat and fast tracking mega infrastructure development across the three senatorial districts, in fulfillment of his overall electioneering campaigns promises to the people.

Executive Assistant on Orientation and Communications to the Governor, Dr Latimore Oghenesivbe made the assertion on Wednesday in Asaba, during Morning Ride live public affairs programme aired on Delta Television, saying that his Boss being a major player in the system before taking over state affairs as governor, came prepared and knew what to do from day one, to consistently upscale overall development of the state.

He said solid road infrastructure plays pivotal roles in socioeconomic transformation of any society, which is why priority attention is placed on mega road projects to fast track economic prosperity, adding that the recently flagged of N78 billion flyovers, road expansions, overleaf and pedestrian bridge projects award to construction giant, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, would open up economic activities and enhance free flow of traffic in those areas.

Oghenesivbe noted that governor Oborevwori has been able to endeared himself to the hearts of Deltans within seven months in office due to his detribalized nature, equitable distribution and allocation of projects, state resources and political appointments, such that every step taken so far portrayed unquestionable transparency, equity and fairness to all concerned across the state.

He commended the Honourable Commissioners for Works; Rural and Urban, Hon Reuben Izeze and Hon Charles Aniagwu, for their diligence and hard work in projects supervision and regular emphasis on quality projects delivery as directed by the governor.

Oborevwori’s EAOC, assured Deltans that as the MORE agenda continues to unfold in multifaceted shapes and sizes, they shall have cause to thank God and appreciate the visionary leadership and good governance strides of governor Oborevwori.

And on prudent management of state resources, Oghenesivbe, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Delta State Orientation Bureau, DSOB, disclosed that official due diligence, fiscal discipline and accountability remained the hallmarks of Oborevwori’s administration, and to that extent, all approvals and financial transactions are carefully and transparently scrutinized and regularly monitored to ensure that Deltans get value for their money.

He said the governor is always conscious of his social contract with the good people of Delta State, and shall continue to do everything and anything necessary and lawful to ensure that the mandate given to him at the polls on March 18, 2023, continues to yield bountiful dividends of democracy to the people, in terms of high quality infrastructure projects, wealth and job creation, peace building and security, as well as all other segments of the developmental plans encapsulated in the Governor’s MORE agenda.

“Seven months gone in this administration, and I am pleased to inform Deltans that our indefatigable governor, Rt Hon Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, has performed creditably well and his good governance strides shall be sustained till May 29, 2031, by the grace of God.

“I say so with all sense of humility and sincerity. For the first time since the creation of Delta State, construction giant, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, came on board and now executing multifaceted mega flyovers projects at DSC Roundabout, PTI junction, Effurun Roundabout and Enerhen Junction to Marine gate axis, in Delta Central and Delta South senatorial districts. This is awesome. It’s breathtaking, as a matter of fact.

“The governor is also executing palliative work along Abraka-Ubiaruku-Umutu federal roads axis in the state, to ensure that Deltans and Nigerians plying the road to the Eastern part of the country, no longer spend multiple hours and days for a journey of less than an two hours. This, to a large extent, revealed the governor’s patriotic spirit and visionary leadership. It’s laudable.

“The Ughelli-Ozoro-Asaba roads dualization project is ongoing, and governor Oborevwori will continue to Inspect the project on a regular basis to ensure adherence to quality and timely delivery.

“There are other ongoing projects in Ika nation of North East and South LGAs, as well as in other local governments across the state. Majority of these ongoing projects are earmarked for commissioning on or before May 29, his first year anniversary, in office.

“Prudent management of state resources has been upscaled, and due process is given priority attention. Financial resources are strictly measured and monitored, no room for wastages and there can never be reckless management of state resources under governor Oborevwori. His eagle eye is sharp enough to pin down unscrupulous transactions.

“In all, Delta State is in good standing in all ramifications, and the governor had assured Deltans that inherited projects shall be completed and commissioned, while initiating new ones and expanding the frontiers of development and quality dividends of democracy,” Oghenesivbe said.
