Delta North Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Prince Ned Nwoko, Monday, narrowly escaped the rampaging Labour Party, LP, ‘virus’ as the result of Saturday’s National Assembly election for Delta North was announced.

Prince Nwoko polled a total of 92, 514 votes from the nine local government areas of Delta North to defeat his closest rival, Mr Kennedy Kamma, of the Labour Party, who garnered 86,121 votes.

The sitting Senator representing Delta North, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi of the APC came a distant third with 36,816 votes

The PDP candidate won in Aniocha North, Ika North East, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani local government areas, while the Labour Party won in Aniocha South, Ika South, Oshimili North and Oshimili South.

The result was announced by the Returning Officer for the election in Delta North, Dr Josephine Okeakwa.

The candidate of the Labour Party for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency seat, Mr Ngozi Okolie, has won Saturday’s National Assembly election in the Federal Constituency.

Ngozi Okolie was declared the winner by the Returning Officer for the Federal Constituency, Prof Kenneth Abaraibe, at the INEC collation centre in the Oshimili South Local Government secretariat.

The LP candidate scored 53, 879 votes against 33, 466 secured by the PDP candidate, Ndudi Elumelu, who is presently the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives.
