Six tankers and articulated trucks loaded with stolen and illegally refined petroleum products suspected to be automated gasoline oil (AGO) have been impounded by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Delta Command at a loading point in Odorubu waterside in Patani Local Government Area of the state.

The loading point was bursted by men of the Commandant General Special Intelligence Squad acting on credible intelligence information, according to a statement by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of NSCDC Delta, Dsc Emeka Peters Okwechime.

Okwechime said, “Upon citing the men of the C.G.S.I.S, the vandals used a 120 liters capacity tanker to barricade the only road leading to the illegal loading point to prevent men of the NSCDC gaining access to the illegal loading point.

“In a determined effort to gain access to the loading point, men of the C.G.S.I.S engaged the services of about 6 truck drivers, 2 auto electricians and a tow truck, which towed away the heavily loaded 120liters capacity truck used by the crude oil thieves to barricade the road leading to illegal loading point.

“Also in a related development, barely 24 hours after arrival, men of the CGSIS arrested four suspects in Warri with a Toyota Camry blue with Registration Number BMA 786 TN and a Toyota sienna with Registration Number KSF 107 CD. Both vehicles were loaded with illegally refined petroleum product suspected to be AGO concealed in 25liter polythene sacks numbering about 300 sacks.

“The name of the suspects are Clement Mike (M) 34years, Tobore Morgan (M) 39years, others are Jeff Oluchi (M) 29years at large and Chinwe Ikpeamachukwu (F) 40years. The suspects are currently undergoing investigation and will be charged to court accordingly to serve as a deterrent to others.”
