The national leadership of the Radio Television Theatre and Arts Workers Union, RATTAWU, has constituted a six-man Caretaker Committee for the Rivers State Council of the Union.
A statement by the General Secretary of RATTAWU, Comrade Aniete Akpausoh, said the setting up of the Caretaker Committee led by Comrade Lawrence Owhondah, followed the expiration of the three years tenure of the State Administrative Council which expired Saturday, December 18, 2021.
The statement thanked the outgone State Administrative Council for the services rendered to the Union urging them to immediately hand over every Union property including vehicles to the National Secretariat of the Union through the Caretaker Committee.
The Comrade Owhondah led six-man Rivers State RATTAWU Caretaker Committee has Comrade Suzzy Accrajaja as Vice-chairman, Comrade Imah Jaja, Treasurer, Comrade Neki Lah Kine, Comrade John Atubo and Comrade Amaso London -Kio as members while Comrade Barilee Brown will serve as Secretary.
The Caretaker Committee is saddled with the responsibility to conduct elections in Union’s Chapters in the state that are due and put in place arrangements for the Triennial State Delegates Conference.
The statement called on RATTAWU members in the state to cooperate and support the Caretaker Committee constituted by the National Leadership of the Union.
